Amikacin

AMIKACIN Injection contains Amikacin, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic used for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, resulting in rapid bactericidal activity.

It is commonly used in the management of severe respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, septicemia, intra-abdominal infections, bone and joint infections, and hospital-acquired infections, particularly those caused by resistant organisms.

Typical dosing frequency:
Amikacin is generally administered once daily or divided into two doses per day (every 12–24 hours) depending on the severity of infection, patient weight, and renal function.
