Losartan

Angizaar-50 Tablets contain Losartan Potassium 50 mg, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) indicated for the management of hypertension and reduction of cardiovascular risk in appropriate patients.

Losartan works by selectively blocking angiotensin II (AT1) receptors, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, and decreased blood pressure without inhibiting bradykinin metabolism. It is commonly used as first-line therapy for hypertension, particularly in patients who may not tolerate ACE inhibitors.

Angizaar-50 may also be prescribed for renal protection in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes with proteinuria, and as part of combination therapy when additional blood pressure control is required. The formulation supports once-daily dosing and consistent 24-hour blood pressure control.

For use under medical supervision. Dose adjustments may be required in patients with renal impairment, volume depletion, or when used with other antihypertensive agents.
